Constantly in touch with one another via Hyperspace, the Edgestations, marvels of fractal self-assembly beyond Man's ken, today serve as the calling point for ships from a thousand different races on their voyages across the galaxy. Iridescent, shimmering objects, driven by the power inherent in the fabric of space itself… And protected from harmful influences, both sentient and natural, by energy weapons of unimaginable ferocity, as the Invaders discovered to their cost in their rapidly concluded invasion of Humanspace two centuries before…
Each of these structures were special in their own right, each of them different; their pre-Human creators had not only sought functionality, but beauty as well in the deep, cold darkness of the Galactic edge…
